Are you tired of women being treated poorly and paid less than men!? Well we are! Women are paid less in most career/job settings simply because they are women and some, maybe even most, are led to believe that women are not as “superior” as men. We, on the other hand, are led to believe that this is the farthest thing from the truth. Women deserve the same pay and same opportunities as men.
The United Voice of the People is here to prove that women are indeed deserving of the same pay as men. The problem we are addressing is a big issue right here in our own country! In 2016, women only made about $0.79 for $1 a man made, how is that fair?! Women are working just as hard as men just to get paid less? No way! It’s time to we, The United Voice of the People try and put an end to this.
The effects of the gender wage gap are not just short term, but more long term. By the time retirement rolls around for both genders men have money stacked up while women on the other hand are needing to make their money “stretch” further or last longer than your typical male. If both genders work all-year round, women still end up making about 78% of what men make in any full-time job. Women are said to have to save even more of their earned salaries just to have more for retirement, but STILL end up with less than males! It is said to take years before women equally earn what men do. There are many reasons as to why the wage gap for both men and women is the way it is. Jobs mainly done by women often pay less than the jobs mainly done by men because of the levels of qualifications that need to be reached for those certain jobs. But, women have been moving towards jobs mainly done by men in the last couple of decades. By making the pay equal between both genders it is said to cut the poverty of working women by almost half and add almost $482 billion to the national economy.
How will we pay for this?
Our proposal to the people is very simple. My party plans to equal out the field for women and make it to where women are equally earning just as much as men in any and every industry. By passing a law that applies to all states saying women will be paid just as much as men in all industries. In the long run, this plan will both benefit women and society as a whole. No one is meant to be burdened by raising the pay for women, it is only meant to benefit. It is not going to cost much of the people’s money to raise the pay. Taxing all classes equally will be the way we pay for this proposal. This law will hopefully help calm the many financial insecurities of women that occur daily and that occur when it comes to being able to retire. This plan is meant to help women all around the United States and is meant to give them the relief of not having to save extra just to have a decent retirement.
How will we benefit?
The United Voice of the People is here to help and aid women all around the United States by giving them what they deserve. Women should not have to work just as hard as men just to be paid less. A simple proposal of raising the pay for women to be equivalent to the earnings of men is what we are planning to do to help these women who struggle everyday.
